about

Stitches tells an intricate story of the lyricist and vocalist, David Angel, as he shares dark details of what had happened in the last 10 years. Dealing with a traumatic situation, and a deep depression that almost ended him, he begins to tell the world about how within that time he felt uninspired, without motivation, and only filled with regret.

lyrics

[Verse I]
I’m left on the verge of nothingness
Sick and eyeless
Opted out from this world – nothing
Feels useless
Muse-less
Broken and putrid
The fallen angel has become all but fruitless
And nothing is my ring beneath the flesh of sin
I know I am the one that’s opened the door that’s within
A mind that’s born remorsed
Breeded with a four corse
I know I’d find myself with the darkness of recourse

[Interlude]
I’d bring the return of eternity
I’d blind my own eyes
With the forgotten certainty
It’s like the shadow had forgotten the past
I’d never let another hand control the strings I surpassed

[Chorus]
Je préfère arracher les points

[Refrain]
With time laying at my feet
The night fades into a defeat
I would rather rip out the stitches
Bang my head and cry out
While I dig my ditches
And I blind my eyes with nothing
It keeps me here when I fall in to rotting Mountains of Flowers cluttered inside me
I was a number ’til I rose up from the edge of heresy

[Chorus]
Je préfère arracher les points…
Je préfère arracher les points…
Je préfère arracher les points…
Je préfère arracher…

[Verse II]
And I would dine on the voice deep inside
Fall off the cuff thinking maybe I’d be divine
I’d try it for a taste
Fallen off the case
I never thought that I’d be feasting on my resting place

[Verse III]
And on and on
I’d forsake the blame on me
And I’d dine on the dying that died on me
For a time
I’d fallen into the grave
The dirt that buried the darkness deep inside – unweighed

[Verse IV]
Now with a solemn face
I’m left without disgrace
I’ve faced all the faces that had faced me away
And with a deep embrace
I lastly now erased
The fog that once plagued me with the endless debase

(Je préfère arracher les points…
Je préfère arracher les points…
Je préfère arracher les points…
Je préfère arracher…)

[Interlude]
But now the tale’s undone
Follow the new-born sun
The only thing that’s left out is the shade that’s not begun
The stitches have undone
And all the things I’ve done?
The virus has broken free from the decade that has been spun
And all this time akin
Outside the city – a fiend
A taken muse that has been silent with the thoughts of din

[Interlude]
And with these words unlocked
All things that I had lost
Had fallen across the cross that broke things that crost

[Outro]
What’s a man to society that’s broken free?
Without the time
I’m my judge of eternity
Before – my life had no sense of autonomy
I spit out the taste
So bitter for me
Of a broken poet without a society
And now my time with the past has clocked in – am I now redeemed?
Since now the voices have fallen into obscurity?
Regardless now the seams have seemed to see eternity
